I do a lot of online transactions as part of my eBay business, and since the infancy of online banking in the area one other bank has done nothing but allow horrendous chain reactions time after time when money I deposited one day was often unavailable the next. At my original bank I received nothing but polite condescension and a refusal to alter bank policy to disable overdrafts, and simply not pay the parties until funds were actually in. I have always paid my overdraft fees down at my previous bank, but even after doing so I was told I was no longer allowed there as a customer. It was with great reluctance, then, that I came to Citizens. Yet, the difference in customer service has been like night and day. $150 to start? No problem. The teller who helped open my account was one of the most polite and genuinely friendly businesspeople I've ever dealt with. On a second trip to a different branch (I never got the same hassle I did banking with them from branch to branch like my old one), I got some helpful advice for preventing future overdrafts, without it being pushy or self-serving. While it's true overdraft protection is now being enforced by the government, Citizens took steps to encourage me to greatly reduce my chances of being overdrawn on my business account. My past bank used to treat me like its shoddy funds processing was my fault, but Citizens didn't, and that makes all the difference. Thanks so much to my new bank for all it's done to ensure a pleasant and safeguarded banking experience.
