Thanks so much to Dr. Robertson for taking such good care of my dog. He is a little Ddachshund and had a large fatty tumor on his side. Dr. Robertson removed this tumor and cleaned his teeth at a very reasonabe price. I highly recommend "pet clinic of Portsmouth" to any and all who loved their pets.

this vet is the best vet i have been to in a while. he spent so much time with us and never made us feel like we were waisting his time. i have recommended him to so many people. his prices are very reasonable. i cant say enough good things about him and his assistant. they are very caring and thoughful. i had been to many vets before him and they were only concerned with one thing...getting the money. this vet is not like that . he spent so much time with us everytime we came in to see him. so if i had an appointment and had to wait a while longer i was ok with that. i know that he was giving the person with there pet the extra time . the extra time i so much appriciated that he spent with my animal and answering my sometimes many many questions. never did he rush us out. even when we happened to be there at closing time. they are wonderful people there!!!!

This doctor caused me extreme emotional anguish just now. His staff accepted an appointment for euthanizing my aged cat, yet when my husband and I went in, he declined to do it. Although my cat, 16 1/2 years old, is a shadow of her former self, has hardened kidneys, and no bowel control, the doctor made us feel wrong for wanting to end her suffering. He seems to think that we must invest a lot of money, time and effort to give her, what? Another couple of years? Rather than trust our judgment, our long history with this beloved pet, and our intimate knowledge of her quality of life--not to mention our financial situation and responsibilities--he relied on his brief experience with the animal to determine that it was not her time to go. He put me through an inquisition of sorts, stunning me into tears....here I was, after preparing emotionally and preparing the family for this event, being told his decision trumped mine. Instead of crying for the loss of a cat I haved loved and cared for, and been so proud of, for almost 17 years, I cried out of confusion, indignation and shock. He said, "I'm the one who has to do it." This is a sign of extreme immaturity and lack of professionalism. My response: No, I am the one doing it; I am the one who loves this animal and has to suffer this loss. Shame on you Doctor for not knowing, and honoring, the difference.

I would highly recommend Pet Clinic of Portsmouth, not only did my cat get a complete check up he got his ears cleaned and I was able to buy flea meds even cheaper then online. They also took the time time to answer all my questions and offered advice on my dogs.

Let me start by saying, I NEVER go online and write reviews. But i felt i had to in this case. Yesterday morning i realized my dog most likely had worms. However we just got her, and we did not have a vet yet. Later that day I was able to get out of work a bit early (130 pm) and i called Pet Clinic of Portsmouth to see if i could get her in. Dr Robertson was the one to answer due to the fact that everyone else that works there had gone home. Why? You ask. It was because they had already closed for the holiday weekend. I explained that we had a new puppy, and was fairly certain she had worms. He told me he didn't want to wait until the next week and to bring her in as soon as i could. I was able to get there by 230. He was very happy to meet Boo (my puppy) as were his four legged friends that were at the door to greet us. He made Boo and I feel very welcome, and right at home. He took a lot of time looking over boo, asking questions and answering the many questions i had.(being a first time puppy owner and all).I never once got the felling that he was in a rush, or that we were holding him up from starting his holiday weekend... So boo was medicated and we were on our way. Very pleased with everything we had just experienced. And all the information gained. That's not the end of the story though. I got a call an hour later, and i was surprised to hear that it was Dr Robertson. He was calling because he had stayed even later and done a more in depth fecal exam and found that Boo had a more serious worm than the tape worm he found earlier, and ask me to come back in to get a different med for her. So it's now 430 on a day that they had closed early for the holiday weekend, and he still had no issues standing around chatting with me for another half an hour. I was very happy that before we even left his office the first time, i knew we had found our vet. I highly recommend Pet Clinic of Portsmouth.. We will definitely be going there for all our animals future needs.
